about the project

The aims of the study were to:

  • estimate: the present potential available resource from traditional forests products and brash, co-products from sawmills, arboricultural arisings and short rotation coppice in a sound and consistent way,
  • forecast: future availability of the resource from traditional forests,
  • web site: allow the user, via an interactive website, to sift through information summarised at a medium geographical and temporal scale to identify the woodfuel type of interest,
  • further requests: allow the user to define an area of interest, a type of resource, and a future time interval the provide the user with more refined information within one working week at minimal cost.
